Do Busy Men Pay For It?
How sad to read of the social isolation experienced by Lord Mayor Sartor , "Annette Sharp" Sydney Sun Herald December 8 2002. <excerpt> Sartor is stepping out: By Annette Sharp Eighteen months after the loss of his companion to cancer , Lord Mayor Sartor is dating once again. Sartor has confided to friends that he has been lonely since the death last June , of Hephzibah Tintner, the 30 year old opera and arts director , who came into his life only a few months before learning she was battling cancer of the throat. Sartor cared for Tintner for almost 18 months until her death. Now he has started to hope he will once again find a companion to accompany him to the many Gala events that are part of his life in public office. Last week he was photographed with attractive Sydney National Cancer Foundation colleague Catherine Oates-Smith at the opera House attending Graeme Murphy's Australian Ballet production of Swan Lake. While sources say Sartor is still devastated by Tintner's death , they say he has started phoning women and asking them out. One woman , who did not wish to be named confirmed he called her , saying "I'm a very busy man , I don't want to waste your time or mine. Is there any chance of romance?" Same here Frank ; but with me , it was no job :no money : so no family and no love , but you have my phone number , and I await with bated breath and anticipation in front of my web cam , hands trembling over the telephone and waiting on that call: I can be Ruth..less if you want?
