Quotes By Billy the Bludger
I have just heard that maestro of self promotion Lord Mayor Frank Sartor defend the outrageous decision to continue with New Years Eve fireworks , this has been used for several years, as a vehicle for self promotion. This false display of privileged circumstances, while our country brothers and sisters are trying to scrape together a living on a land that is now as dry as a Limeburners boot, and living in abject poverty, relying on charity from a tight-fisted federal government is shameful. Do these people need a reality check? Or What? Then there is the flippant dismissal of a terrorist attack during these fireworks displays! This verges on the criminal, what better environment could a potential terrorist want, with the public personas actually creating optimum circumstance in which to cause maximum damage to the citizenry, through providing hundreds of thousands and perhaps millions of targets, and the noise and smoke to create the diversions. We have been told by the terrorists themselves, that we are a terrorist target, and large crowds around the foreshores would certainly be a soft target creating an unimaginable impact on Australian Society. Where do Bob Carr and Michael Costa sit on this matter? Probably scavenging in Rockdale High Street , trying to convince Rockdale residents to support their candisate and his self promotion? Will they accept personal responsibility for any deaths or injuries emanating from a possible terrorist attack, during this sacred fireworks ritual? It takes little imagination, to fear the realities of the sure and present dangers that are in our midst, the fact that a potential State Cabinet Minister , offers advice in a manner that could only exacerbate any causalities is surely indicative of a cavalier attitude toward life and limb, unheard of since the senseless human sacrifices on the battle fields of Flanders. Is this the type of behaviour we expect from those in whom we entrust our lives, I think not! One only needs to listen to this individual to realise they have now reached their level of incompetence , and perhaps they should , like their cohorts , move up to Brisbane , and perhaps like Jim Soorly or other Carr Government Parliamentarians , they may want to arrange civic receptions for convicted terrorists. http://www.irlnet.com/aprn/archive/2001/July05/05aais.html Excerpt from http://www.irlnet.com/aprn/archive/1999/February25/25oz.html BRISBANE -- According to Brisbane's Courier-Mail, when Gerry Adams entered the civic reception organised in his honour by Mayor Jim Soorley his “welcome was more befitting a rock star than a politician at City Hall, with the crowd whistling, stamping, clapping and chanting 'Gerry' as he took the stage”. Replying to criticism by the family of Stephen Melrose, a lawyer killed by the Irish Republican Army in Holland in 1990 after being wrongly identified as an off-duty British soldier, Soorley said Adams had sent a clear message that the peace process could spare other families from the pain the Melroses suffered.
